Terms
Last updated 16 August 2026
Plain terms for a small tool. Using Books Always Ready means agreeing to these.
What this is not
This is not accounting, tax, or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for an accountant. It sorts transactions into a chart of accounts and produces a document for a professional to work from. Read this first, because it is the most important thing on this page: the categories it assigns are a starting point produced partly by a language model, and they can be wrong.
You are responsible for reviewing the ledger before you send it. The review screen exists for exactly that reason, and the flags are there to point at the rows most worth a second look, not to certify the rest.
Your account
One person, one set of books. Keep your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else has access.
Do not upload data that is not yours to upload, and do not use the service to break the law.
Paying
New accounts get a free trial. After that, a yearly subscription is required to upload a new quarter or build a new packet. Payment is handled by Stripe.
You can cancel any time from the billing portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access for the rest of the period you already paid for. We do not prorate refunds for time already elapsed, but if something has gone wrong, write to us and we will sort it out.
If your subscription lapses, your existing books stay readable and downloadable. Only new work is paused. We will not hold your records to collect a renewal.
Availability
This is a small service run by one person. It is not sold with an uptime guarantee. We aim to keep it running and to give notice before anything disruptive, and we keep the export working so you are never dependent on us being up to get your data out.
Ending it
You can delete your books at any time from Settings, which cancels any active subscription first.
We may suspend an account that is being used to attack the service or break the law. Short of that, we will give notice and time to export before closing an account.
Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you have paid us in the past twelve months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that affects you, we will say so before the change takes effect rather than quietly editing this page.
